Launching of Exhibition “Identity between Symbolics and Colors”

On November 6th, 2018 at 17.30 in the Culture House Boris Hristov in Plovdiv was launched a travelling collective exhibition with works by Bulgarian and Italian artists who created a concept of national identity through the colors of the tricolour banner.

Regional Administration – Plovdiv organized the exhibition in order to implement the 2018 Work Program of the Communication Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria for the European Union, Priority 2: “2018 – European Year of Cultural Heritage and presentation of the diversity of ethnicities and cultures in the European Union and the contribution of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European values”.

The Culture House Boris Hristov will host the works of 30 artists from the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera (Milan) and those of 22 lecturers and students of the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, assembled under the title “Identity between Symbolics and Colors ” from the 6th to the 30th, November 2018.

At the beginning of the 21st century, characterized by heated debates on the subject of cultural diversity, the exhibition reaffirms the importance of the shared heritage preserved in the culture of every country in the world and the comparison and dialogue that unite us. From lithographs to photographs, through digital graphics and the most classic drawing, the artists restore the enormous artistic universe that overcame the territorial boundaries in a dialogue between traditions and perceptions.

The event was attended by Mrs. Evelina Apostolova, Deputy Regional Governor of Plovdiv Region and Mrs. Luigina Peddi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute – Sofia and a cultural attaché of the Italian Embassy in Bulgaria, who officially launched the exhibition.
