The traditional Spring Ball of Opera Plovdiv will present on April 3rd, 2019 the spectacle “SHOW OPERA”, which has become a business card of St. Petersburg, known as the cultural capital of Russia.
The Gala spectacle is a breathtaking musical performance, featuring the greatest opera arias, famous Neapolitan songs and colorful Russian romances. “SHOW OPERA” is a unique project that combines classical music, academic singing and modern show-tech. The program consists of all the accents of world classics, performed by the best voices of the Russian opera. On the stage in the House of Culture in Plovdiv will sing: the Russian vocalist Svetlana Feodulova who set two Guinness World Records while performing Mozart’s Rondo during the Show Opera concert in St. Petersburg and in 2010 Feodulova officially became “the highest coloratura soprano in the world”, Alexander Miminoshvili with over 10 leading roles on the stage of Bolshoi Theatre, Karina Chepurnova – Mariinsky Theatre Soloist, Prize-winner at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition and a leading soloist with performances on the stage of Bolshoi Theatre, Maxim Perebeinos – Honored artist of Ingushetia, Konstantin Brzezinski, Alla Petrova, etc. The conductor of the show is Mihail Golikov.
Every part of “SHOW OPERA” is
full of different means of expression. The original set-up, along with
multimedia 3D set-ups and individual lighting solutions, bring the audience
into medieval castles and Renaissance palaces, among Russian landscapes and
directly in Venice. The program will feature works by Bizet, Mozart, Puccini,
Verdi, Rossini, Bellini, Offenbach and others.
The spectacle “SHOW OPERA” is a friendly greeting from the St. Petersburg`s
government to the twin city of Plovdiv on the occasion of the European Capital
of Culture 2019 and is carried out with the assistance of Regional
Administration – Plovdiv.
