I use the opportunity to congratulate the citizens of Plovdiv and Bulgaria for this success, which is significant for all of us in the region and we expect to contribute substantially to the progress of the regional and European cultural cooperation.”, said Minister Robert Alagjozovski.

„It is not surprising that Plovdiv with its truly unique ancient heritage is our European Capital of Culture for 2019. In next couple of days the Small Early Christian Basilica except for being a centre for historical, art and cultural exchange, will also be primarily a temple of the poetic art.”, said Amelia Gesheva – the Vice Minister of Culture.

The Festival will continue up to May 14th. It is an event of National Culture Fund from the Cultural Programme of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Participation in the Festival take 17 authors from 13 countries.
